Business Information Solutions (BIS) is a group of independent computer experts who have joined together to provide a wide variety of technology solutions to Long Island's growing business community.

Formed in 1991, BIS offers cost-effective application training,  consulting and database development products and services to meet today's demanding business needs.

BIS provides extensive consulting services on Microsoft Access.  The Access section will offer several low-cost pre-designed database applications.  We will also present many Free tips and sample VBA code that you can use to enhance your database application.

All BIS consultants have roots in computer  training.  Each has spent many years teaching computer applications in either the academic or corporate classroom environment before moving into the consulting role.  As we build the Training and Tools section, you can look forward to valuable tips that will make your work easier.

A message from the Founder and President…

For over 25 years, I’ve had an extremely rewarding and challenging career blending business management and computer technology. 

During the 1980’s, when the computer revolution was just beginning, I was Assistant to the Executive Director at the American Institute of Physics.  There, I was responsible for technical R&D projects and chaired the Institute’s committee on Information Technology. I designed and implemented an online database and communications network providing scientific publications, email and physics-related information to over 30,000 users. This online service, which is still operating, was developed on Arpanet five years before it became known as the Internet.

In 1991, I formed a computer consulting and training company that has grown to be one of the top computer training resources on Long Island.  (In May 2000, Long Island Business News listed us as one of the area’s top five computer training centers).

I believe that developing proficient computer skills is an ongoing process in this constantly changing information environment.  Over this past year, many companies have come to realize that it is more efficient and more cost effective to provide custom computer training that focuses on immediate needs.

Most training today, is done for small groups or one-on-one training right at the customer’s site.

Business Information Solutions was formed in 2000 to address this growing trend. We hope you find many of our services meet your specific needs.
